Sherington Manor

This project was designed as a comprehensive Masterplan on this designated historical site unusually set within a moat. The scheme was phased  and implemented over a number of years.

The design for Sherington Manor was more formal near the house using features such as pleached trees and a cantilevered deck over the moat - this transitioned over the length of the garden to natural woodland walks to the north east.

Outdoor Rooms were created giving a classic but also  contemporary edge to the garden by using hedging, trees and topography to guide walks through the garden and also creating focal points and elements of surprise. Rooms have names such as ‘The Great Lawn’, ‘The Gallery’, The ‘Maple Glade’ and ‘The Arboretum’

The larger open spaces contrasting with the small more intimate spaces give the garden a sense of unity and warmth.
